Which Braces Should I Choose?

Deciding which type of braces to choose can seem like a daunting task, but it is not something you need to do alone.

In fact, at Orthodontic Gallery, we encourage anyone considering Orthodontic treatment to come and see us for a free consultation with one of our knowledgeable treatment coordinator to discuss and consider all of the options available before making a final decision.

In some cases a certain type of brace may not be suitable, or you might realise that the type of brace treatment you had initially been interested in does not suit your needs and lifestyle.

Traditional Braces

Fixed Metal Braces or Train Track Braces have been a staple of Orthodontic treatment for generations. Popular among patients who prefer to go with the tried and trusted, and don’t mind wearing an Orthodontic appliance they are an effective way in achieving excellent results!

The benefit of traditional style braces is that they are working 100% of the time and your Orthodontist has the most control over your tooth movement and therefore, the result.

This type of brace is right for you if you have moderate to severe crowding or a deep or complex bite. It can be used to treat even the most complicated of malalignments.

Tooth Coloured Braces

Much like the traditional braces mentioned above, the tooth coloured version is 99% suitable for everyone.

With the exception of those that have a deep or destructive bite. This is because they are ceramic, which is harder than the metal version and if your teeth bite into the edge of a bracket, it’s likely your enamel will come worse off.

This option is the best type of brace for you if you aren’t too bothered about actually wearing braces, but would prefer them to be a little more discreet. From a couple of feet away – people won’t notice that you’re wearing a brace at all!

Invisalign Clear Aligners

In addition to their i7 fast brace treatment Invisalign also offers a longer term treatment for more severe Orthodontic corrections.

Invisalign is suitable for almost everyone including kids and teenagers and can even correct the most complicated of malalignments. Check out Invisalign® ‘s Smile Assessment to see if you are a suitable candidate for Invisalign Treatment.

This is the best option for you if you do not want fixed braces. If you like the idea of being able to remove your aligners. However, you must be committed to wearing them for 22 hours a day. Your final result may be affect if you are not dedicated to wearing your aligners.

Lingual Braces

These are the Ferrari of the types of braces that we offer.

The newest and most invisible brave option of them all. Fitted to the back of your teeth they will straighten any and all malalignments and discrepancies – from the inside.

No one will know you’re wearing braces at all. They do take a bit of getting used to and can affect your speech for a few weeks after they have been fitted – but 99% of our lingual patients will agree that it is worth it for the ultimate in discreet Orthodontics.

Lingual braces are the best option for you if you cannot bear the thought of anyone seeing you wearing braces. Actors, Models, Celebrities and TV personalities (even Royalty) have opted for this secret brace treatment.
