How It Works
Step 1: Consult
Start with a free video or in-person consultation (non-clinical) with a Treatment Coordinator or a specialist orthodontist* to discuss your child’s treatment options, costs, and payment plans with our experienced orthodontic team.
Step 2: Plan
Full records of your child’s teeth will be taken (dental photographs, 3D scan of the teeth and a panoramic X-ray) which will be used by our specialists to will create and discuss a personalised treatment plan just for your child.
Step 3: Smile
Start the journey to a brighter, straighter and more confident smile for your child in as little as a few days.

How do I know if my child needs orthodontic treatment?
Sometimes this is as easy as looking at your child’s teeth but it’s always a great idea to consult with your general dentist who would usually explain their findings and refer your child to a specialist in teeth straightening treatment (an orthodontist). You can always arrange an appointment directly with an orthodontist if you are concerned about the position of your child’s teeth.
At what age can a child start having orthodontic treatment?
The British Orthodontic Society (BOS) recommends starting seeing an orthodontist from the age of 7.
What types of treatment are available for children?
Children are usually depicted as wearing fixed braces or “train tracks”, however there are various types of other appliances (fixed and removable) that are used in orthodontics to correct the alignment of the teeth such as ceramic braces (similar to fixed braces but more discreet as they are tooth-coloured) or Invisalign aligners. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners are removable, allowing the patient to eat and drink what they want. They’re also virtually invisible, making them a popular choice for adults, teens and children alike.
How long does orthodontic treatment take?
On average orthodontic treatment is completed within approximately 18 months depending on the appliance, the patient’s specific requirements and their biology.
How often would my child have to come back to see the orthodontist?
Once the appliance of your choice is fitted, regular appointments (every 6-8 weeks) will be necessary to adjust the appliance and check on the progress of the treatment. At the end of the treatment patients will be fitted with retainers (fixed and/or removable) to ensure that their teeth remain in their final correct position long term. We usually review patients regularly even after the appliances are removed for approximately 2 years.
