When To Book An Orthodontic Assessment

The ideal time to start corrective Orthodontic treatment is during the early teenage years, when the teeth and jaw are still developing. Ideally we would suggest bringing your child in as early as aged 7 to evaluate whether your child will need early orthodontic treatment or if it’s best to keep them under review until they’re ready to start at around age 10-14.

In some cases Early Orthodontic treatment may necessary to correct an issue with out the need of braces. Interceptive early orthodontics is the guidance of teeth eruption and correction of malocclusion (abnormal bite) by early orthodontics in order to improve future outcomes. This is usually achieved by simple fixed or removable orthodontic appliances.

Next you will need Specialist Consultation – the cost of this appointment is £40 – During this visit, we don’t carry out any active treatment.

The orthodontic assessment will take a comprehensive look at a number of things;

– Expected results

We will discuss in detail, your treatment options and any questions or concerns you may have. It is important to us that we establish a good relationship with all of our patients before we begin treatment, so we know exactly what you want and explain how we can help you.

Getting Started

Time to get things started with your Investigation and Discussion appointment – the cost of this appointment is £150 – During this visit we will take

– Clinical photographs
– OPG radiograph
– Digital Scan for study models

The OPG Radiograph for new patients is to check the health of all of your teeth, roots and jaws to ensure you are able to embark on a course of orthodontics.

If you have had one of these specialist radiographs within a year of your consultation please bring it with you to avoid retaking it.

We then provide you with the following:

– A comprehensive treatment plan with objectives
– Estimated treatment time
– Total fee structure and payment contracts
– Consent form and treatment contract

Following your approval of the above, we will arrange to fit your aligners!
